Application Installation Issues:
If this program will not install ,or does not start, verify that the operating system is compatible.
Please see the section regarding OS requirements
Communication Issues:
This application cannot communicate concurrently with a nework clock which is communicationg with WinDiscovery .
This application uses the UDP protocol for bidirectional communication (broadcasts) on port 2000, and port 6163, and may trigger a response from your PC's firewall or the firewall/security settings of your network routers/switches. If you experience difficulty communicating with the application, configure your PC firewall and network routers/switches to allow UDP packets bidirectionally on ports 2000 , and 6163.
Communication via UDP is generally slower than TCP/IP, and is less reliable. UDP messages are more likely not to arrive at their destination on busy networks.
This application requests confirmation from the network clock for each transmission,
and if any transmission fails you are notified in the status field . This feature is provided to help compensate for the nature of UDP messaging.
If you experience frequent transmission failures occur , then increase the number of retries and try to shorten the UDP packet size.
Other Communication Issues:
Password mismatch.
Availabilility of the Network Clock.
Transmission errors
The network clock selection is not updating and Abort messages are entered in status window.
Analog clock hands not tracking the internal local time properly before or after an update :
The network analog clock may need to have the hands re-calibrated if the hands do not properly track the internal local time of the clock. The firmware update 1.9.12 (or later) includes additional features to remember the clock hand positions during a power down or power outages. However it is suggested to verify that the hands are tracking after the firmware update procedure. If the hands do not appear to be tracking properly, they may need to be re-calibrated.
The simplest method to verify the hand position is to monitor the local time text field in the status window of WinDiscovery and compare the hand time on the face of the clock. This method requires that the observer be directly in front of the clock.
An alternate method to verify the analog clock hand calibration is to "home" the hands.
